Report
One of our highest priorities is providing a SAFE experience for all of our participants. You can help us with this. We have very clear protection policies, and we expect all of our participants to abide by them. In the event that someone doesn't, we need to make sure it gets reported. Violations of policy may be incidental one-time mistakes, or they could be signs of a larger problem we may not yet be aware of. While most youth workers are careful to keep everyone safe, sometimes a person will abuse the trust placed in them.
It is up to all of us to maintain a safe Chrysalis environment, through our conduct, our character, and our courage to speak up when necessary to expose those who violate that sanctity.

If you believe a Chrysalis participant has broken the law, please report it to law enforcement. If you're unsure as to whether the conduct was illegal or not, we still ask you to report it to law enforcement so they can make that determination.
We know that this is a scary, intimidating step, but we would strongly encourage you to do it, and we applaud you for your bravery. Do NOT confront the person yourself. Contact law enforcement and let them handle it.
If you are a victim of abuse or inappropriate conduct or advances, please report it to law enforcement. Do not rely on apologies or assurances it won't happen again. If a person does this once, there is a good chance that it will happen again, whether it be with you or with somebody else.

Remember, abuse sounds scary, but that is more often the end than the beginning. If you are a student, it may feel special and wonderful when an unrelated adult takes a particular interest in you and wants to spend time with you outside of the classroom in your personal life, but it may be inappropriate and the beginning of something worse.
Here at Chrysalis, our adult staff and volunteers should NOT be contacting students on social media or seeking to spend time with them outside of official Chrysalis activities. They should not give students their cell phone number, their address, or their personal email address. They should not be taking students on trips or outings. They should not be transporting students to or from Chrysalis activities. They should not spend time alone with a student in a private place.

If you believe someone at Chrysalis has behaved inappropriately at Chrysalis or in a way that affects Chrysalis or its participants, but not to the level of an illegal act, please report it to Chrysalis leadership through the anonymous form below. Because this is an anonymous form, you will not receive a reply or update on the situation. If you would like more information, you can always speak to any member of our staff.
