JOIN OUR FAMILY!
We are looking for leaders, teachers, and churches that feel called to partner with us on this great adventure! The vision God has given for this program is one that is much bigger than one person, one church, one community. This is a vision that calls for churches and for people of all different ages and backgrounds and beliefs and skill-sets to come together as one, as a family, as a team unified by the dream of Chrysalis.
One particularly big prayer request is for a church that would be interested in partnering with us to make our dreams of the Chrysalis Academy Of The Arts come true. In the short-term that would require class-room space for a couple weeks each summer, with the goal of developing over time until grows enough to start a fully-accredited private school.
Chrysalis Youth Theatre will also continue to need classroom space. Rehearsals are typically two weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.
We have a very clear policy of leaving facilities and equipment as we found it or better. As a result, our impact on the facilities is very minimal. We are delighted to have facilities to use, and we strive to respect those facilities, as well as the managers and maintenance team and donors and other people who work hard to make those facilities available to us.
If you can be of assistance in helping us find the right church, we would love to talk to you!
If you represent a church that is interested in hosting one or all of our ministries, we would also love to talk to you.

BUILD RELATIONSHIPS!
One way you can support Chrysalis is by volunteering as a community builder! This team supports Chrysalis by expanding and enriching our network of students, parents, volunteers, staff, donors, audience members, and other friends in in our local community and government. Community Builders are on the front lines of what we do. They are the first impression most people will have of Chrysalis. This team is brand new, and we're looking for people to help bring it to life. The direction of this team will be shaped by its members, but some possibilities include:
- Being present at performances and the first day of classes/rehearsals to enthusiastically welcome people, show them where to park, and generally help them to feel at home. Give them a tour, introduce them to staff and other students/parents, answer questions, and explain what Chrysalis is and why it is so important to you.
- Put together special events, like a welcoming party for new parents/students. These are great opportunities to break the ice, to break down the social walls between people, to get everybody interacting in a healthy, vibrant manner, to really set the right tone for the teaching that is to come. This can help students to go into their first class or rehearsal already feeling comfortable, confident, and connected. This enables students to jump right into the learning experience, so teachers don't have to worry as much about new students dropping out due to nerves or not feeling connected. Students fall in love with Chrysalis very quickly, but that first day is crucial. Some students are very scared or insecure, and that first impression is what causes them to either walk away disappointed, or to stick around and discover just how amazing Chrysalis is. Our teachers have a lot of things to juggle, and new people tend to show up either really early and stand around awkwardly by themselves, or they show up really late and have to face the intimidation of a room full of people staring at them as they enter. Community builders can seriously help by removing these two possibilities and replacing them with positive, welcoming, supportive, interactive experiences, things that aren't intimidating and which help people to feel at home right away.
- Staff a Chrysalis booth at festivals and conventions and other community events, to further share with the local community what Chrysalis is all about, and to help people to experience just how welcoming and genuine and comfortable Chrysalis is. This is a great chance to introduce people to Chrysalis in a relaxed environment before they commit to anything. It's harder for people when they have to try something "cold turkey", like when they don't know anybody at Chrysalis and the kids don't have friends there. So getting out and meeting people and introducing them to Chrysalis at fun community events is a great way to provide an open door to bridge that gap.
HELP US BUILD A PERFORMING ARTS CENTER...
We have a vision for a unique center for the performing arts in the greater Cupertino area. If you can be of assistance in helping us to find the right location, we would love to talk to you!
Our dream is to create an intimate and sustainable venue, offering a world-class performance space that is practical and affordable for groups of 10-40 performers, with audience seating for 100-300 people. The venue would include rehearsal rooms, a spacious lobby and restrooms, large green room and shop space, storage for sets and costumes, orchestra pit, and a flexible stage space that combines the grandeur of a proscenium theatre with the intimacy and charm of a studio theatre.

...OR A FULL CAMPUS FOR THE ARTS!
There's also an even bigger vision that we believe God put on the heart of our founder, Steven Brown, for a world-class arts campus for learning and creating. We aren't sure at this point when or where or how that might happen, but we have faith that God provided this vision for a reason. If you feel led to help make this vision a reality, please give us a call. Here is a rough conceptual ground-plan Steven put together in 2015:
